Should I Really Use a Realtor?

Are you thinking about selling your house but not sure if you should go with an agent or not? Let me remind you that like anything else, there are benefits and drawbacks to buying a house privately vs going through a real estate agent.

Firstly, hiring an agent takes a lot of the stress out of the equation. Otherwise, you’re having to research the market in your area and find comparables. You’re responsible for coordinating all showings and phone calls and having all of the information ready for potential buyers. You’ll also need to be prepared to negotiate and find appropriate paperwork.

In some cases, buyers and sellers might feel like they are getting a better deal by buying privately, but it’s important to remember that you won’t have anyone looking out for you.

Let’s be honest, real estate agents are experts in the housing market and will be able to give you professional advice, up-to-date information, and keep your best interest at heart. The process and documents required for a transaction aren’t as easy as some people think, by hiring an expert you can relax and enjoy the experience.

Some of the other perks to hiring a realtor include the added exposure your house will get, the property will be listed professionally on multiple social media platforms, on MLS and shared widely through other realtors, offices and brokerages reaching a much wider audience than if you listed privately. Teams such as ours are well connected and offer professional services from points “A” to “Z”, for example, you’ll notice we do “paid advertising” for all of our listings, we hire professional photographers and videographers to help maximize your home’s potential, we get your house professionally cleaned and should it need it, we send our in-house home stager to really get her spruced up and looking her best for potential buyers.

To be fair, the peace of mind that comes with hiring a relator during one of life’s most stress-inducing situations is worth every penny alone.
